Supporting the Orange Planetarium
The concept of Orange having its own planetarium is a bold one, but it is also very achievable and will be of huge benefit, both economically and educationally, to the city.
In short, the planetarium is a unique combination of a significant tourist attraction and a facility that has a community and educational focus.
It will boost Orange’s status as a regional centre and attract visitors who may not previously have considered the city as a destination.
For those enticed by other attractions, it will provide an additional activity and may well induce them to extend their stay.Possibly most importantly however, it will provide a first class facility for the illustration and education of astronomy for local and district schools.
- Donations to the Orange Planetarium -
Orange Planetarium Incorporated is hoping the local community will recognise the immense opportunity the planetarium offers the region and wholeheartedly support it.
Our initial goal is to raise a further $5,000 to the $10,000 already contributed by Orange City Council to help with the feasibility study. This will address the economic viability of the project and determine the appropriate size and scale of the operation to service the Central West.
Consequently, Orange Planetarium Incorporated is asking for your help and will appreciate any donation given towards this goal.
As Orange Planetarium Incorporated has been granted tax deductible gift recipient status by the Australian Taxation Office (who has acknowledged our proposed facility to be similar to a museum or library), all donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
