Southern Skies Public Launch
16 March 2011
Following 8 years of research the Orange Planetarium Incorporated has unveiled the proposed designs for the Southern Skies Earth and Space Centre to an enthusiastic crowd at the Orange Civic Theatre on March 16th, 2011.
The audience were treated to samples of planetarium shows and a virtual walkthrough of the facility. The Southern Skies Earth and Space Centre will house a modern 80 seat planetarium, telescopic observatory, convention room, café, gift shop, and exhibition areas. The facility will be located next to the Orange Botanic Gardens and will strengthen tourism in the Central West. Planetarium shows will cover a variety of science and environmental based programs.
